ABOUT ME

What makes me tick

I'm fascinated by humans and the range of feeling we experience, so nothing feels more natural than looking at all that vibrant life through a lens. Photography is a kind of magic: my aim is to capture as much life, expression, truth and dynamism in that moment as possible, then gift it back to the people that made it.

Many years working in documentary films ignited my interest in telling human stories. I pick up on emotions that inform my work and create a strong connection between the final image and the viewer. Trust and intimacy are at the heart of this process.

My photography is experimental, empathetic and sensory; I always want to provoke feelings in my pictures. I play with the concept of time and memory, using blurring techniques that leave parts of the picture to the imagination and create an evocative softness.

I'm based in St Leonards on the south coast of the UK and when I'm not working I'm mostly learning (slowly) to skateboard or out walking the smallest of dogs.

If you'd like to get to know me a bit better, I'll soon be launching my Now page, where I share what's happening in my world at the moment plus anything good that's caught my eye. Get in touch if you'd like to chat.
